I don't think you have to do that. I don't recall doing that. I'll check out what I do tonight, but I think that I just press the button once, and use the arrows to move the "cursor" to the setting that you want. Can't do that while looking through the viewfinder though, I guess.
I'll also try how you are doing it.
Some of those look pretty dark, are you using a "fill" flash? I just started doing this and it improved alot.

Hello eb3_nepa,
Today is the first day of Senate after elections. There are no bills in the Senate or House that refers to immigration, directly or indirectly. That is why there is no thread providing up to the minute information about the developments on the senate/house floor.
We all understand each others pain for having to wait for long years for green card. At the same time we must say and request to all members to manage our expectations. The elections results have increased the chances for an immigration bill. But the type/form of the immigration bill and whether our provisions would be considered in the base bill is still not clear. The current situation is surely better for our provisions but it may take sometime for an immigration bill to mature and pass. As pappu mentioned in another thread, House and Senate Republican leadership had a conference about the issues in the lame duck session last Thursday. Immigration was not mentioned/discussed in that conference meeting. We all want something to happen sooner rather than later. But it is very unlikely that a bill of the size/type of CIR to be considered in the lame duck session, especially when the majority in the Congress has changed.

The lens hood has a the primary use of avoiding "unnecesary" light from entering the lens - this is particularly useful if you're shooting at an angle where the sun or other bright light hits the lens from the side - and would then bounce around inside the lens and potentially cause flares, ghosting, "milky picture" and other artifacts. Translated from Swedish, the name for hood is "towards-light-protection".

The hood being much less technologically advanced is less likely to suffere damage from such incidents and if it does, it's less expensive than the lens, so not such a big deal to "damage".

Please excuse me if this question has been answered before in these forums - if so, kindly point me to the relevant threads.
Here's our situation:
My wife will be going to India in March. She is currently on H1 though she also has an EAD and AP doc (from my GC application). Even though we have been assured by our attorney that it is safe for her to use her AP, we are exploring other options (mainly because a friend of ours recently had a bad experience using AP).
Basically she plans to attend a VISA interview (to get her H1B VISA). We dont expect any issues to get her VISA approved. But just in case it does not, would it then be okay to use AP?
In other words would there be any issues at the port of entry if the IO sees a VISA denial on her passport and she trying to enter using AP? Are there any other issues that you can highlight?

:) my lawyer cudnt file EAD AP on July 2nd. i recieved a mail frm him 2day that once he recived the RN he will file for EAD AP as dates need not to b current for that, u can file it any time once u recived the RN

As we all know the fees are going to increase next month. Though I am safe now lot of other people will still bear the heavy fees.
One of the reasons they say they are increasing the fees is that they are short on resources and need more people and resources. Now, to all of our surprise last month, they were able to process some 60K I485s in less than 2 weeks.
With what has happened in last 1 month and also with the new fees increase, do you guys think USCIS will improve their productivity or will remain unchanged?
July filers, do you think USCIS will process our Reciepts, EADs and APs faster or take sweet long time complaining about the backlog?
Lets discuss this issue and figure out what is the solution with this 2 face USCIS!

I still work with them. They are far better than other companies...
Marlabs is not really bad; I think it is far better than many other desi companies. But it is also possible that they may not provide labor or i-140 documents. But if you have good relation with account manager/recruiter then the issue can be resolved.
One point needs to be accepted here that everybody(employer and employee) is playing survival game here. Try to talk it out to resolve it, it will surely work. I have seen and heard about companies which are much worse. Marlabs doesn't fall into that category, its my personal experience.

I thought USCIS recently clarified that one need not be in H1 status (or even in the country) to get a 7th year H1 extension based on a old LC or 485.
If thats the case, then why cant we go to EAD for a few months and say within a year come back to H1 (so we are not counted in the new quota, and get a 3year H1 extension because of approved I-140)?

Did your lawyer suggest going via the AILA liaison to higher levels? sometimes, higher officers (supervisors) can change decesions made by the immigration clerks, if there is enough proof of a mistake being done.
My attorney is working on filing MTR. According to him he can file by next week.

The island looked so beautiful from far away that they still can�t believe their eyes that there is such a place on earth.
Everyday they noticed that some people are standing in lines to take the special boat which takes them to that Fairy Island & day by day they observed the lines are getting longer & longer of people going into island but only very few people are returning & whoever is returning are coming back with lots of gold, money etc. Unable to resist the temptation of visiting the island one fine day John, Johnny & Janardhan decided to take that special boat to see what is actually in that island but just before they approached the boat, a watchmen stopped them & said they are not allowed as they are kids & told them it is only for grown up�s. Feeling disappointed they went back to their village & they patiently waited until they became old enough to be permitted to take that special boat. That morning John, Johnny & Janardhan packed their bags & informed their parents & their villagers that they are going to this island & will return in few months with lots of money & probably improve the standard of living which they have been dreaming of since their childhood.
This time they patiently waited in line & when their turn came to enter into the boat, the watchmen recognized these 3 fellows who used see them every summer for last several years & decided to give some advises & warnings to John, Johnny & Janardhan before entering into the island. Looks like there is a little misunderstanding. This I have created so that I and some of friends can use a pool. Planning 95% retainer to the guy (including all expenses :)).
Ohhhhhh! maybe this is a new way of attracting potential "consultants" from this forum.....wonderful!!!
If you are so good natured, why keep 5%...give 100% all to the fellow victims of Desi blood sucking Employers. Just calculate whatever the expenses for SStax, retain only that portion.....and its definitely not a flat 5%.

I was in Bahamas for my H1B revalidation with the same company. Before the interview they verified my documents and have written "not found in PIMS". I still got my passport next day. My H1B was approved a month ago.
