Airlines cannot legally cancel a ticket , after issuing a ticket number , There are lot of precedences in law , which clearly prove , that the airlines had to even honor 0$ fares.
I am not a lawyer , but i did some google search , and found cases like these where the airlines were forced to honor fare error tickets.
I am prepared anyways now after seeing all these responses.

Actually I filed an AR-11 and also opened a SR on the same day and 10 days later I saw a soft LUD (after 15 or so months of hibernation). So I don't know if the LUD is for SR or AR-11....(although in my AR-11 the change is only the apt number everything else is the same)
Funnily I changed my wife's address too as she is dependent on my application also updated the address for her I485....10 days later I got a letter from USCIS...request denied as beneficiary is not same as applicant...what a stupid reason...why then was there a link to change address for dependents (in the first place).
So I again filed an AR-11 this time as her as applicant and also changed her 485 address.
Though I did an AR-11 and a 485 address change...I saw a soft LUD on my EAD and I-140 (which was already approved at least as things stand now)....
Strange are their ways....

Please let me know how long did it take for you to renew your licence by mail, as i am in the same situation, that my visa got expired and extension is filed and i have the receipt notice with me, when approached to CA DMV, none of them were willing to extend the DL unless provide them the Approval Notice, so i mailed the DL 410 with check to DMV.

Per my attorney, this wouldn't apply to those who are eligible to extend their H-1B status beyond the 6 year cap based on an approved I-140.

Gimme a break, there are tons of rallies everyday. If participating in a rally is bad, then probably everyone in the world is bad.
So you don't want your name to appear on google? as if you are living in stone age.
Just google my name and you can see so many results.
Yes definetly people need a break from suggesting peer IV members to "Go live inside a cave".
While posting quick reply I forgot to put smiley face as this news is too funny to be true.
I know participating in rally was for a good cause.
Don't understand why some senior member's in IV lhave this kind of attitude towards peer team members which discourages members to actively participate in any discussions/activities.
It is better to take out frustration at issues impacting immigrants instead of to individual team members.
By the way saw your engagement album when I googled Chanduv23, Congrats for your wedding!!

As you have said, I'll try to work with a good employer on this, once if it is feasible for me to go back to my old employer.
(There is a tricky thing here, as USCIS already knows that you are out of status, they might not extends your H1-B any more even if you are filling with your old employer)
I have a question regarding your above statement, If getting back to my old employer works,
what exactly I have to apply to the USCIS with my old employer. pls let me know.

if you fill all detail in your profile, and check / calculate approx. date for your GC on IV;
you may get exact expected date, which might be in next 1-2 years.
If I were you, I would wait for 1-2 years, why? If I start GC process with new employer and try to port my this PD, that will also take min. 2 years. Whom would I join (new emp.)?
- desi company - you would get similar package and lot of promises
- End client - 30% hike but bit uncertainty of losing job and hang in mid of GC process.
I am not pessimistic, but would not take this risk when it is matter of up to two years.
On top of that your 6 yrs. are finished, so any bad action from end client emp. can spoil hard work done.
As a friend, stay calm and try to enjoy progress of EB2.
If my thoughts are too pessimistic, then I am sorry, can't help, I am married have kid and can take only calculated risk.

Once you clear the labor I think you can port the old date? again I am not sure about that either. Well there is great debate and confusion as to what date is used by USCIS - Receipt Date or Notice Date. One camp seems to believe its the Receipt Date while another seems to believe its the notice date.
Any gurus out there who have solved this mystery for sure? Any links which can definitively prove its either one or the other? For the 485 filers of July 2007 this is going to be a crucial definition, one which hopefully will be interpreted consistently at the very least.
This is what I think.. The processing date web page says:
The processing dates shown below represent the receipt dates of petitions and applications currently being processed by the USCIS Service Center. If the receipt date shown on your receipt notice is prior to the processing date shown below, you may call USCIS Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283
If you look at the 485 receipt notice, you see two boxes on the top left side. One says Received Date and the other one says Notice Date. So the word receipt date mentioned on the web page matches closely with the received date on the notice and not with the notice date.
Now if I check online status on CRIS for my 485, it says:
On xyz date we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE .... ....
Surprisingly, this "xyz" date matches with the notice date and not received date (at least in my case), which adds to the confusion. But the processing date web page clearly states the date on your receipt notice and it doesn't talk about the date on the online status..
In summary, I'll go with the received date on the 485 notice.

As long as I-485 is pending, I-485 applicant can chose what to do. Applicant is required to work (actually it is report to work in more strict terms) after I-485 is approved.
Here is one example: F1 student files for I-485 under eb3 category for Chhoo Mantar, Inc. (fictitious name). he can continue study (or work on EAD or both) until I-485 is approved. Feel free to check this example with any attorney and may be then you can understand this.

ALG, I did pay the I290 585$ because my lawyer said they will not approve I mean not approve but they will not consider if we dodnt pay the fee. So why you wore denied? I wish I can jsut hear somthing I am with my baby's at home and cant even drive and I need to ask people to take me places I need it is so hard, i pray to God soon we all get it , I seriously am so scared:eek: and worried :(not scared but more worried when what you know the questions cant even stop but yeah I hope and I pray they will approve I need to work and support my family it is so hard. Thanks for your blogs. I think drivers license copy is not needed if you are applying for an EAD extension. Copy of old EAD is enough. Only new filers need to send drivers license copy ( or some other form of ID).
