Done. Not helpful this (or anything) will help but I did it. Along with sending emails and actual letters to Chao, Specter and others. We are just stuck here for years to come I think.

Try to get your RAP sheet from DCJS and FBI and discuss with a criminal attorney if your case can be sealed, which depends upon your state. I think some states may allows first time Misdemeanors to be sealed.
Sealing the case may help you during your next job application as your record may not be available publically.

Yeah guys, I think a lot of comments here were highly inappropriate. There is a reason that there is a forum for Job Seekers. There is no reason to bash anyone, much less a new member to the forums. He did nothing wrong, and I for one am appalled that kirupaForum members would flame a new member so harshly, escpecially when he or she did nothing wrong.

I have a question for Guru's on this forum. Like in the case below where Arvind's wife is in US presumably on H4 just 2 weeks ago so in all likelyhood her H4 stamping happened 4-6 weeks back. At that time she must have told the visa officer that she does not intend to work. Now I understand that folks on F1 also do not intend to stay in US or work there when they are applying for visa. But USCIS general interpretation of intention is 6 months - 1 year. Because circumstances change and people have other thoughts. But in cases like the one quoted below it sure looks like the person applying for H4 never really had the intention of being a house wife and wanted to work. Would this affect her case when application is being reviewed? My appeal to folks is not to take H1 lightly because good old days are over. CIS is now really looking hard at each application filed.

I think joining IEEE will be best way to counter the voice of RH. A few hundred of IV minded folks on IEEE will not only balance the vitriolic campains of likes of RH but will make it support IV cause.
Few hundreds will matter a lot as in such organizations less than 10% people are politically active.

My GC was approved when I was abroad. I entered back on AP. The officer at the POE didn't ask me any questions, so I don't know whether he knew that my GC was approved already.

This is indeed a welcome step!
First of all entering a country illegally is wrong. It is a crime. After committing an illegal act, seeking protection by talking about civil rights, liberty etc is absolutley unfair. Every country has a right to enforce its borders.
Will it be ok if 10 million Pakistanis enter India, stay and work illegally? Please pause to think. Let us be fair!
Might is not right! Just because the illegals have a HUGE NO. they are arm twisting the government and also holding people like you and I to ransom. They are the ones who are preventing anything good happening to us. I am least bothered about what they do, till it affects the legal immigrants.
Why should we fall under the ambit of the CIR? In what way did we violate the process? The issue is simple ---> The illegals have all the money,muscle and vote power but 0% of the law on their side! In our case we have neither the money, nor the muscle or vote power, but have 100% of the law on our side.
I only hope Arizone wins the major legal battle too!

The problem is the racial profiling and giving cops (who are clueless about immigration matters) the right to check immigration. I guess one can understand the problems only when you are stopped and asked for papers (say when you are on vacation in Arizona trying to enjoy but instead you are stopped by a cop with whatever motivation he has in his mind ...maybe he just decides to screw around with some colored people).
illegal immigration is bad ...but there are better ways to enforce it ..for one - tighten the screws on employers who hire illegals for pocketing the profits ..once the illegals know jobs are not there for them - they will stop coming illegally
I hope all those who support Arizona's laws are stopped by cops and asked to prove that they are legal in this country ..BTW the supreme court is also tilted towards the right - so no surprises there

Opt Is The Way To Go. Though You Can APPLY FOR Opt Until Two Months(60 DAYS) After Your Graduation. If You Are Gradtated More Than Two Months Ago You Can Not Apply For Opt.

I believe that it would be addressed sooner or later - but we have to raise the issue and take it forward.
Do you think it would be fair, if at the hospitals, Doctors started attending people born in Philippines, China, India and Mexico before they attended others? NO!
I am not against anyone and wish well for all. Just want a fair and square dealing. First come, first served.

Hi, I posted on a new thread about the similar situation I am in without seeing your post. I spoke to a USCIS Rep and asked him to put in a request for a new FP notice/schedule to be sent to my new address. He did so. I also asked him if it would help going along with my husband for his appointment and requesting them to FP me that time, he said I could try that. Do let me know if you have any other updates.

Relax guys.LUDs dont mean nothing...and I can prove that easily :). I had an LUD on my long time approved 140. To be precise, my 140 was approved in Sep,2006. But I had an LUD on Nov 25th, 2007. Till date nothing has changed...Everything is the same same in la la land :). So, that shud confirm u guys that LUDs mean nothing.
A friend's 485 had a soft LUD sometime back in 2007. He hadn't changed his address, no AC21, dint go outa the country etc..etc...etc...Till date hez still waiting for his green. Also, no RFEs or anything. So, again, LUDs dont mean nothing.
Processing dates in NCS and TCS have reached July,08 which means they must be preadjudicating July filers' 485. Till date, on this forum, I've not heard of any soft LUDs on the so-called preadjucated 485s. The general understanding is that LUD happens whenever a case is touched. Pls dont tell me that when they pre-adjudicate ur case, they dont touch it :). So, my qn is where r the LUDs?
But still...to keep ur hopes alive and play the game if u wanna get a count of LUDs its gr8...I'm sure its a nice time pass for ppl havin nothin to do :D

Stimulus payment is nothing but a prepayment of your tax credits for 2008. You have two options.
1> Either file a 1040X with the dependent's SSN
or
2> Take the credit when you file 2008 tax return during 2009.
Suze Orman would disagree with option 2 since that $600 is not earning interest
for one year! :)
