That means your case is still waiting to be assigned. Just like mine for the past two months. I also called NSC this afternoon and got the same response.
NC pending, Waiting to be assigned, Call after 60 days. I don't know what to say.
I am not sweating too much right now as none is current for me. But it is disheartening to see no progress on the case even after RD and PD become current. It is good that a lot of people are getting approved, but there is no FIFO in this...

I read somewhere on the forum that money is being returned for PP cases that were filed before the deadline.
:(. That really sucks. I read that USCIS did accept premium upgrades as late as Jun 26th.
I am not sure if you can bump it PP just because you filed in regular processing before they suspended the PP.
I dont think your lawyer is either ignorant or not honest with you. Just my feeling.
Well, that is what my lawyer claims. Apparently USCIS asked them to re-file. My lawyers sat on my 140 papers from Apr 15th to Jun 15th :( - so I generally don't trust whatever they say.

In responce to SR I received the following reply from USCIS
The Permanent Resident Card cannot be completed because the biometrics have not uploaded into the system. We are looking into the databases to see if the images can be found.
Did anyone received a similar reply?
I gave my fingerprints last thursday (September 4, 2008).

Point is you have the same age old text available the university presentations and kit as your take. Where did you get this? That was missing. Now I do not want to be blunt and say that you copied pasted it from that search result into the forum. You should have atleast make a mention of the source or pasted a link as a courtesy.

Now, coming back to the topic of the post, I also mentioned in couple of posts above, based on USCIS memo, full time job position means 35-40 hours in most cases. One thing the attorney, mentioned in your post, failed to mention that H1B petition is linked to LCA and the employment letter included at the time of petition. If the employment letter (or job offer4 letter) mentions it is full time job then any significant change in that will require H1-B amendment. It is very common to file H1B amendment for changing from full time to part time, changing job location, or changes in job duties.
One more thing, may I add here, is the universities tend to follow H1B rules and regulation more strictly then small time consulting shop.
Let me know, if you still believe that significant changes in job hours does not involve H1-B petition amendment.

My stand on religion.... I don't believe in it (any form), but I think everyone else has a right to believe in whatever religion they want, just don't try and make me believe it and everything will be good.

I agree with Saket. There will be some saber rattling, some lip service, some false starts, some failures that can be conveniently blamed on republicans to make them look bad. But no real decisive action on Immigration this year. Sadly, the latino votes will be used again...and again. That is politics. No one really wants to do any real change. They want to do their time then move on. Some decisions and laws have to be passed just to ensure that they return to power again.

Go consult a good family law attorney - meet a few attorneys to decide which one is the right one for you. Get proper advice on how to proceed with a divorce - from what you write that seems the next logical step.
You can get an order from court with your divorce papers which says that she should stay away from you and not live in your house (or the court/attorney may ask you to move out but that will be worth it than take the risk where she hurts herself and puts the blame on you as abuse). The court might also say that you should provide her temporary accomodation for 3-6 months if she is not working or cannot support herself - even that is a worth it expense (just FYI).
You do not want to live with her given that she is already making abuse allegations. Worst case be prepared to get arrested and then bailed out if it comes to that - you will get a divorce if you want one (laws differ slightly between different states, study what are the laws for the state you live in).
As someone else pointed out - she will take 50% of your savings accumulated over the term of your marriage no matter what - so the sooner you get out of this mess the better it is. Detach yourself emotionally and be very clear in your head that you don't need to help her with her GC when all she is doing is trying to get you in trouble by making false allegations!
Again this is just my view point - take it with a grain of salt if you disagree.
I brought my fiancee from over sea. It was good in the beginning. But it is very bad now. She is very abusive in her words. She goes around telling lies to make other people feel sorry for her. She says I beat her and abuse her everyday, all lies. She tells me she goes to work. She make calls and some guy would would come and pick her up. She has been gone as long as 2 months. Sometimes she tells me she is coming home, then she would get home a day later or 2-3 am in the morning. I asked her she would get angry and says she is working. She wants to move out, she says my house gives her headaches and it feels like prison. She keeps asking me about her immigration paper work, she threaten me about taking half of what I own if we get separated.
I am so emotionally drained with this girl. I am so stressed, I can't sleep and it is affecting my health and work.
When she arrived, I did get marry with her in court. But everything else, paperwork that is, is not done. I did file for the change of status, and an interview date has been set for next week. What should I do? Help this girl? Kick her out? Have her removed? Continue with the paperwork and bite my tongue for 3 years then get a divorce? What can I do? My gut says kick her out now. But my heart says help her to the end. What can I do?

I understand I need a transit visa and would like to apply for one in US. I am flying Emirates and believe Emirates can sponsor for the visa. They told me to use CIBT (http://www.cibt.com) for applying for a visa. On the cibt site, it asks for a unexpired visa or a Green Card.
I wonder how others with expired H1s have got transit visa to Dubai.

There is nothing "broken" about our immigration system that strict enforcement of existing laws could not fix.
There will be no amnesty in 2010. Or ever. In fact, as unemployment continues to rise and hard-working, middle-class Americans continue to slide into foreclosure and bankruptcy, there will be huge tsunami to crack down on illegals and impose a moratorium on ALL immigration until unemployment drops back below 5%.
One of the reason, illegal immigrants and their advocates are so desperate for illegal immigration to pass is because this is going to be a W shaped recesssion. Meaning that it will go up then come back down before going back up again. We are still in a recession, no matter what the tintops on the hill say. And the longer the recession goes on, the more impatient and angry U.S. citizens are going to become with the presence of illegal immigrants working in this country. And the more viable it will become for U.S. workers and legal residents who are out of work and whose unemployment has run out to be more willing to work those jobs that illegal immigrants have. In fact I read somewhere that in the hispanic community the unemployment is easing somewhat. They do stick together, I have to give them that.
