Hi, After searching for so many time in nvars.com, i got appointment only for june in calgary (exactly around 30 days before the new extension date). Has anybody stamped h1b visa renewal in canada before the expiry of the previous visa (from the same company) ?

In fact, AR-11 is more important for GC-holders than for non-immigrants, since failure to file is grounds for revocation of status!!
There have been cases since 9-11 where aliens (yes, GC-holders are aliens) have been deported SOLELY for having failed to file AR-11.

In my case it took more than month. I filed in Vermont and it went to California. I finally got approval last week.

I agree with what you say. But, at the same time, I believe that the members need leadership and direction.....

However IV site will be what its members want it to be. If members talk about EAD/APs and notices, then that is all it will be on the site.
FYI IV has already posted its plan on the main homepage as a top most link after the Dec visa bulletin was announced. If members do not show interest in working towards getting something added in the year end bills and do not want to contribute in the funding drive thread then this site will only be for EADs and AP problems.
This effort is driven and supported by each and every member. Members need to decide what they want. IV leaders are more than wiling to go an extra mile and continue to make sacrifices towards this effort.

With Shiela D, the problem is not hefty money but also an iffy acceptance with the INS. Atleast for mine, no acceptence with INS even after giving Shiela what she wanted! And moreover, a denial of this sort adds yet another fowl feather in your hat!!

Apahilaj, you may be right, it is straight forward in case of AP but with EAD it is spinning around. As per the instructions at page 9, it is leading to TSC address. I prefer you to call them to set this straight. Please accept my sincere apologies if I had given any incorrect info in this regard.
The direct mailing document has the following (if you do a Ctrl F and search for 485)

Now when I check page 7 of the instructions, it says send it to TX, if you are from NJ.

I am in a similar situation. Sad things is, my employer's lawyer is also clueless on this. After the first f'ck up (filing EB3 instead of EB2), they are off to second one now in 2 months (refiling PERM in EB2). My i140 is approved based on the previously approved EB3 PERM. Lets see what happens.

One way to increase participation is to involve the Indian student associations of the various universities of the area. They are usually pretty well organized and members are usually willing to support such causes. Also support from ISA's from top notch schools goes a long way to show the legal immigrant population as a highly educated bunch.
ps. although i mention Indian Student associations, it should be expanded to other Student bodies as well.

Thanks for the atta boy, however, I will give a pat on the back and a whooping attaboy, and perhaps even a glow in the dark salami with their initials on it, if someone, anyone can help me find a way to reverse this. My Fla is frellin 9 megs now because of Swift 3D or Flash or whatever. Life would have been so much easier if I could allow people to view my Fla and help correct foundational errors. But who wants to download a 9 meg Fla just to answer a question? I know now why snoopy spent all his time on top of his doghouse; It was as far away from the computer in the house as he could possibly get. :( (FRELL!!!) I removed everything, but it's ghost remains, haunting my Fla. Put this one in the K-files.

2. H1B becomes invalid, but you can always re-validate it if you leave the US and re-enter with a new H1. You can also transfer H1 to new employer. However my advice is to use EAD and forget about H1.
3. The only way to keep H1 is to work full-time for company A and use EAD for part-time job. If you use EAD for full-time job, you invoke AC21 automatically.
Lazycis, according to u r 3rd point, If someone has a H1B sponsored by Comp A and has an 485 pending thro Comp A and received EAD thro Comp A, then he can still work on H1 for his primary employer Comp A and at the same time parallely work for Comp B on a part time basis using his EAD. Is this wat u meant? Is being on H1B and EAD at the same time allowable ?

Me & my husband got our Date of Birth Certificates recently & looking into the forums it seems like we need to submit an affidavit for the same.It would be really helpful if you can send us any sample affidavit if you have any and which states .......that a search was done for your birth records...but not found....Also how many affidavit's would we need..Shouldn't one from the parents be suffice? Plz reply back immediately as we are filing for I-485..

The USCIS will not accept any birth certificates issued by the Indian Embassy in DC. So, please don't spend time, money and effort on this...
If you have a birth certificate with your parents (i.e., if they registered your birth with the appropriate municipal authorities), then arrange to have that sent to you.
If your birth was not registered, then you have to get a certificate to that effect by the municipality (saying something to the effect that a search was done for your birth records...but not found). Then, your parents will have to swear an affidavit...I can give you more details later, if you would like.
But definitely, the USCIS will not accept anything from the embassy for an I-485 application...
