I guess they mailed the letters to your new address. Please confirm.
Once you change an address online, they will mail you a letter that change has been done. They were very fast when I did it early september. IU had letters for all my 485/AP/EAD cases in mail within a week. This letter just says that the address has been updated.
IO is immigration officer... basically second level rep I think. The Nationl cust serv peaple dont have any info other than the same online access tyhat we have.. so they transfer us to higher level an actual IO if thing is complicated...

I am currently on H4 with an H1B approved for this coming October. My husband applied for 140/485 as well as EAD and AP for me (he will continue using his H1B).
I want to avoid going for stamping and that is why I do not include getting H1 stamp and traveling with it.
Questions:
1. If I work under EAD and our 485 is denied, can I transfer to H1b? Or only H4?
2. Do I have to work under H1 for a while (be in H1B status) before starting to use EAD/AP in order to "transfer back" to H1B or can I benefit from the 797A previously issued?
3. If I can still benefit from previous 797, do I need to file for a new H1B and be subject to the quota? I thought that if you are counted against the cap in the previous 6 yrs, you do not have to do it again..

So when John, Johnny & Janardhan are brought in front of Jailor, the Jailor told them that since this is the first time they committed the crime he wanted to give them a chance for early release but they all have to answer to one simple question. The question was �What was first impression of this prison ( Glass Dome )?�
Sensing an opportunity John (who is smartest of other two) Jumped in & said that this prison is very beautiful & it is like heaven & you are like a god but it is missing security camera�s & there is possibility that with less no of guards & more prisoners there is a danger to prison guards if we don�t monitor them what they are doing . He also said that given an opportunity he can invent security camera & will gift it to prison. The Jailor was so impressed he told John to go to Room 1 & the day he finishes building a security camera he can be relieved from this dome.
Since Johnny & Janaradhan did not prepare before hand & sensing something fishy Johnny jumped in & he said the same thing as John that you are a god blah, blah & he added that he cannot promise that he can build security camera but he said that he has the skill & ability to install these cameras across the prison & build a control room so he can monitor all room�s from one control center. Impressed with Johnny too, the jailor asked him to go to Room2 & told him that once John finishes inventing security camera, you can install them & then you can be relieved until then you are jailed in Room2.
Finally before Janardhan could answer the question, the jailor interrupted him & said that when John & Johnny are working so hard in inventing a security camera & installing them , what would be the purpose of it when I don�t have any prisoners left to monitor & told him that he needs to go to Room3 & when Janardhan asked when will his turn come to get out of prison, the Jailor simply said �Check your priority date� & Janardhan was thrown into Jail called Room no 3 which years later it was named as EB3. John who was sent to room 1 was named EB1 & Johnny room was named as EB2. Every once in a while just like our independence day they gave few benefits to prisoners (July Fiasco) & awarded some of them with Advance parole who can go out of dome temporarily & come back to prison. The lucky one�s who got Advance paroles visited their family occasionally but never they mentioned to family & friends that they are living in a prison & they got so addicted to glass dome they honestly keep returning to prisons after a short vacation.
The watchmen who gave a prior warning not to commit is �Do Not Apply for Island Card� (recently named as Green card). John who was smartest kid built the security monitor devices in less than year & he got out & he became so involved in innovating new stuff that he started building space stations, rackets, airplanes & he is visiting all places, all countries including planets like moon, Jupiter etc except his village. Johnny got out & by the time he got out it took several years & he already lost interest in doing something to his village. And finally our beloved Janardhan has no options left other than to escape from this Alcatraz.
End of Story�
Now guys do not even attempt to start a fight between these 3 best friends imagining you as John, Johnny or Janardhan. Let me assure you that even today they remained as best friends & will be forever. Also for those who are interested in why the title �Midnight Express�? there is a movie by name midnight express directed by oliver stone about an American student ( true story) where in this US citizen student is arrested by Turkish police after trying to smuggle some local drugs & he was caught just before boarding the flight. Initially he thought that it is just a simple crime & the turkish govt sentenced him for 5 years but when his term came to end they moved his priority date back just like EB3 & overturned the previous sentence & sentenced him for life. Although I am not saying that Janardhan life is similar to that of this movie but the concept is same but one things for sure I have admit that Janardhan prison condition is far better than Turkish jails.

Now I don't work for anybody.
Well sometimes HR guy does not know anything about immigration law (or they think we don't). Mine tried to make me pay my renewal. I was very polite an send an email telling him that I would be happy to do that but I thought it was not legal and suggest him to ask immigration lawyer. Then he latter sent an email telling me they were going to pay for the fees.....

I filed the paper EAD renewal. Its been 5 weeks since I received the receipt. Have you all waited so long for renewals to be approved?
In the 765 renewal app I have answered the following questions this way. Please let me know if this is right and if there is anything I can do if this is wrong. Thanks for your help,
For question 14, Manner of last entry: " Paroled (AOS) " because that is what is stamped in my passport and I94 after my entry into US.
For question 15, Current Immigration status: " H1B Worker " because my H1B is valid till 2010 and I never used my EAD or received my green card.

We did our graduation in engineering. (Most of us like me have a masters in engineering from US university.)
We came here legally.
We pay taxes and abide by the law.

Most of our labor certification are stuck In Dallas or Philly backlog centres. We dont even know what is happening there.
We are from middle class families, who have spent our time and finances for education for a better standard of living.
What we cant do:
We cant conduct a rally of 500000, becos we work at least 5 days a week as engineers or professionals contributing heavily to american economy.
Wht happened:
We got tied up with illegal immigrants in the bill, which has a lesser chance of passing in the House.
My request:
Introduce a bill for the relief highly skilled immigrants, in case this ongoing immigration bill fails.
Remove the hard country quota in the EB visa category. It is unfair to put a hard limit to a skilled immigrant category.
Pls Note: I have nothing personnel against Illegal Immigrants. Just want to make sure, we don't suffer due to other peoples wrong doings.

Guys:
I am posting this question on behalf of my friend.
My friend was laid off and his company is going to cancel his H1 soon. His company is giving a return ticket ONLY for him. They are refusing to give a return ticket for his spouse and son. Can somebody point me to to some USCIS H1 rule that would state that the h1 sponsoring company is responsible to pay return ticket for family, who is on h4 visa sponsored by the company. Or advise if the company's statement is true??

This is my first post here. At the outset, I would like to say, from what I have seen on the web-site so far, it’s a great initiative to address the EB GC issue.
On the profile I agree with a previous post, there ought to be more classifications available while registering. Here is a suggestion:
• Labor Applied/Pending
• Labor Certified
• I-140 Applied/Pending
• I-485 Applied/Pending
• I-140 Certified; Waiting to Apply I-485 (Retrogression)
• I-140 + I-485 Applied/Pending
This will hopefully capture the true status of applicants in various stages of the GC process. In addition, if it’s not a big hassle there can be a provision to enter a date (in MM/YY format) against the category that a person would select in the above classification. This way you will get data on how long each stage has been pending.

The rule book says(i had that forwared from my company lawyer).
The i-94 validity should be based on the Visa approval notice, not based on the Visa Stamping. My wife even had that copy with her and argued with the port of entry officer. But he said it is not possible and he did not explain why he can't, but he also mentioned it is not a problem to stay beyond the i-94 validity since she had approval notice.
Then we went to the local i-94 correction office. The officer at the correction center looked at the details and said the POE officer did the right thing because the primary applicant did not travel.
He also mentioned It is not required to file Change Of Status. He went to an extent saying if you have any problem in future, asked me to give his number and name. But i just filed a change of status for safter purpose.
Again it differs from case to case basis i guess.

What appears to be humorous, killing time, time pass, freedom of speech on a public forum etc.. for a small group of people appears as irritable, worthless, waste of invaluable time, work for moderators etc.. for another group of people.

I filed for 485/EAD and AP for which I recieved email notifications yesterday with reciept no# and mentioning that the case was transferred to CSC as belowI am on valid H1 but I need to get a new I-94 [no stamping] for which my attorney is advising to go to canada. I don't see any issue coming back on H1 as it will take a month atleast to process my case.
