Also, why company can not provide contract letters?
In a typical Consulting scenario, company A could be providing employees for Client C, but client C only accepts consultants from prime vendor B. In case of contracts, Client C will have a contract in place with Vendor B and company A will have a contract with B as well, but in most cases nothing with C.
I am in a similar situation, but in my case, I got the letter from my manager at the client place verifying my job duties etc., We replied for a similar RFE last week and keeping my fingers crossed. My lawyer also asked for various other documents including all my W2s since 2005, a lot of paystubs and job verification letter from myself, client and vendor along with some other contracts etc.,
Hope we all get thru this recession sooner than later.

send the copy of I-140 approval notice (not receipt), a copy of the August visa bulletin and a cover letter explaining the AC21 provision that gives you a 3 year extension. Did you apply for this extension in July when dates were current? If so that could be the problem; point them to August where dates are U and you are eligible for the 3 year extension.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but dosent CIR already include provisions to increase EB green cards to 450,000, exempting family members? I dont believe the SKIL bill increases EB based green cards more than that. Brownback's amendment eliminates hard country caps, and other good stuff.

I filed for 485/EAD and AP for which I recieved email notifications yesterday with reciept no# and mentioning that the case was transferred to CSC as belowI am on valid H1 but I need to get a new I-94 [no stamping] for which my attorney is advising to go to canada. I don't see any issue coming back on H1 as it will take a month atleast to process my case.

No written rules about number of days. Technically you are out of status from day 1 of termination. The more days in out of status, the less chance of getting an extension of status / change of status getting approved. More than 180 days out of status will cause some other issues in future. Obviously you do not want to overstay your I-94 date anyway.
Now.... if you can find another job and get the H1B extension filed in 30 days, mostly you will be OK. But again it really depends on USCIS.

Can you backup your claim? My passport was issued in India and I got my PCC from the Indian embassy in SFO within 3 weeks.
My PP was also issued from India, but got PCC from NY. It took little longer than expected (close to 4 months)

You get a year extension if your labor is PENDING( NOT APPROVED ) for more than 365 days and 3 years if you have approved i 140 and your PD is not current. The only option is to use EAD.

LC needs to be filed >365 days ago. Does not matter if it is approved or not.

Wait a minute here, you are mixing too many things.
In 2005, the spending bill got our provisions in (dependent exemption, recapture) in Senate Judiciary committee (that was led by Chairman Arlen Specter). Then it survived the floor vote in the senate. When the bill was taken up in conference committee between House and Senate, the House people got it removed from there (mainly due to opposition from Sensenbrenner). Those provisions were never voted in the House floor. Those provisions were voted in the senate jud committee and the bill version with those provisions was voted on the Senate floor, but they never saw the house floor as those provisions were killed in House-Senate conf committee. This was all in Dec 2005.
Now in Dec 2006, it was a different thing. Cornyn tried to get some SKIL provisions thru unanimous consent into a spending bill. I think this was around 2nd or 3rd Dec 2006. In this, Sessions opposed it. All it takes to defeat a unanimous consent vote is one person to oppose it. Sensenbrenner also vowed to oppose it if it was inserted from House side.
Nonetheless, Sensenbrenner didnt lose his chairmanship because he did all this. He lost it because Republicans lost control of the House of Representatives and all Republican charimen/chairwomen in committees were replaced by Democrats by the new Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
I forgot about Dec 2006 Skil attempt and I thoroughly understand how unanimous consent works in the Senate. Nevertheless, I did not say he lost his chairmanship. I said he lost his leadership position meaning "ranking membership" to Lamar Smith when the control went to the Dems in 2007 and the word was that the Republicans opposed his candidature because of the "enforcement only" bill he pushed in the house in Dec 2005. I will try to find that article on the net.

U can file a complaint if ur employer is charging u for the transfer and filing fees. If the amount is deducted from ur salary, just send an email to him asking the reason for deduction and based on the response u receive, use that as proof. Better yet, call him/her and record the telephone conversation. I'm sure u will win the case. These kind of crappy employers shud be taught a lesson. Act intelligently and cautiously if u r really serious about filing a complaint.
Partly we are to be blamed for this situation with these crappy employers. I am sure its not a decent company, my best guess is its a consultant.
So our friend here should have been careful before joining such a shady set up. At the time of getting out of univ or coming from India, people just want to join whoever is ready to take them, later they will shout and cry.
We keep talking on this forum about body shoppers, who do you think promotes this kind of situation - WE !

Even if you go back to India( assuming your mother country ) for a year you can then come back after 1 year on H1B again for next 6 years. I know its a pain but always an option. Also you would visit India for about 1 year period in the next 7 years that works fine .
