Is AAA life keeping the premium quoted to you? I saw yoru post and happened to recieve some flyer from AAA about life insurance. So I called and got a quote, and passed the physical. Now the agent called back saying the underwriter increased my premium because of my status (not a GC holder). The new premium is almost doubled the original quote. Thanks.

Canada and US are two different countries with two very different procedures. One GC has no bearing to another - all that matters is, which one you will be able to maintain.
It appears that you can maintain ONLY one at a time. That makes sense. Help me out - what happens if you get Canadian GC first (which is more likely ...due to retrogression, etc)? Do you have to abandon US GC process? OR could you wait until US GC process is finished and decide which one to keep?
Getting a Canadian GC is far more easier if you are from certain countries - but losing the status is also easier.

I had 140 denied on basis of education.My lawyer has filed for MTR with education eval. My wife's application was also denied stating that the primary application is denied. Now do i need to file for MTR for my wife as well?

But onething is sure.........there are lot of blood sucking companies out there in NJ and USCIS should do something about them. Problem is H1b visa holder will never complaint about these companies.

My friend's cousine got his GC 6 months back. He did meet and send mails to individual senators continously for a year and finally he got his GC. So this is true.
I have heard from a couple of folks that they have met some senior senetors like Bob Dole and have influnced INS to speed up their case of GC processing. Is this true ? .
If this is true is there a way to stop the influence by senetors so that these everyone gets a fair chance of getting their GC.

Yes, that is normal. By default, all controls are displayed in the style of their OS theme such as Vista's Aero or XP's Luna and Royale. You can create custom controls that override this behavior, and while you can do that directly writing XAML, it is much easier using a visual editor like Expression Blend.
The namespaces you mention are used to primarily to integrate WinForms controls into a WPF application. Either way, you will still see OS-specific versions of the controls unless you create your own or modify an existing control.
What are the new 3.0 project types for? I refer to those like the WPF pages...
The new project types specify a XAML file for the UI and a code-behind file for the application logic. This is very similar to ASP.NET pages where your ASPX file consists of the HTML front-end and a back-end file written in C# or VB for creating interactivity. I have a question regarding duration of legal status, as determined by the I-94 card.
- My brother's current H-1B ends on Oct 31, 2008.
- His company applied for 3yr H-1B extension in July, till Oct 2011
- The petition was approved and it has the approval notice date of Sep 5, 2008.
- My brother had to travel outside the country due to business reasons (left on Sept 9, returned on Sep 12).
- At POE, he got a new I-94 based on his current H-1B, with validity up to Oct 31, 2008.
1) My understanding is that his H-1B status in the country ends on Oct 31, 2008, as determined by the new I-94. Is this correct?
2) If the above is correct, then what are his options? As far as I know, there are two:
a) Leave the country before Oct 31, 2008, apply for a visa, and return with the new visa and get a new I-94 at the POE.
b) Apply for an amendment or extension of stay? I am not sure how this works, but I have heard people talk about it.
I will really appreciate if someone could share their thoughts and experience in this matter.

with same job title as my application is. I don't want use EAD and keep H1B because it allows to appeal if GC is denied.
Is this correct procedure how to change job?
1.my new employer needs file I-9 using my alien number (from I-485).
2.Invoke AC21
- cover letter
- offer from the new company
- paystubs from new employer (if available at time of filing)
- 485 receipt
- 140 receipt
3. my H1B will expire in 2011. If I invoke AC21 do I need ask new employer fill H1B application? Can they have reason don't do it? Can I pay fee $320 by myself?

I can't provide inputs from the legal perspective but my initial thought would be that this is illegal. Hope you get helpful answers and hope you are not one of those who are trying to game the system. Good luck if you aren't and mean well with this post.
However, I am saddened by such posts which will further denigrate our nationality. Aren't we hated enough by other communities already that you have to come with such issues? I have never worked for any slave trading desi firm but due to accident of my birth (Indian nationality), I have had to endure dirty looks here by people who think I am on an H1B and have undercut their wages. It is time we all introspect within ourselves and realize that a lot of anti-H1B groups aren't that way just because they are racists but that we've contributed to their negative perceptions to a certain extent as well. It's a sad sad world out there for us Indians. We are in many ways our own enemies. I rest my case. Peace.
(Note: I am not saying I am superior to others but not all Indians (like myself) work as white collar slaves for desi companies and yes, I am proud of my 'genuine' L1 visa). I know a lot of TCS employees who were 'brought' here on L1 visa and weren't really paid in dollars. It makes my blood boil that I get categorized with these crooks just because somebody decided to find loopholes in this very useful visa category.
