Even I haven't heard anything back! I filed concurrently I140/485 to TSC on July 13 and had a notice date on Sep 7. My priority date is Jan 2006, does it mean I need to wait for 2 more years to get my I140 approved. This doesn't make any sense

Hi All
My PD is Jan 2009 with EB3 category.
Is there any chance whatsoever that i will get a GC ?
Any chances if all PD will be current like in 2007 ?
Comments are welcome
The answer depends upon ur country of Chargeability.

Check with your employers insurance agent. Agents can provide you information on how to split up coverage to get a better deal.
This will depend on your state as well.
If nothing else works, check with your state insurance board, states run a pool for folks who cant join a big group. Being a part of such big group will get your benefits at a marginal cost than what you are paying now.
From experience, being with a small group(insurance group) its very painful and you end up paying a big chunk.

b'coz if there is an RFE and 485 gets denied you will not be having any chance to stay and fight. In the current environment it is very much possible.
I am not sure why you dont want to use EAD. You have paid them for it right? Also your I140 is approved, so it should work out.

That's what they do in GA . It's normal and you are not alone .
So you are saying that this is different in other states? I thought the SAVE system was a nationwide ordeal...

My passport was issued with 5 year validity (2002-2007). Hope this endorsement will not cause any issue since I'm renewing the passport after the expiration date.
As I said , Id did not cause any delay in our case. We tried after our passports have been expired. Good luck.
But if you are trying to do this for filing 485 , I suggest going in person if possible so that you can cut down on time.

I am planning to get stamping my H1 in US consulate Hyderabad. Wanted to check with anyone who has recently been there. My first question is
1) There is a question " Is your visa expired in past 12 months"? Can some one please tell me what this means? My last stamped visa expired in Feb 2009 so should I say Yes? But I have my approved I-797 petition valid till 2012. Can some one please share their experience on this question
2) Can some one please provide a list of documents to carry?

I have included my previous company paystubs & I was paid till the last day i moved to new company. After that my new company paid.
so there is a no discounituation of pay slips any time.
Hi vikramy,
I am curious to know, did you apply for visa transfer without any of the previous company's paystubs?
Because thats the primary reason of visa denials without concerns of recession.
Were you getting paid before January?

Thanks for sharing this...But I've not yet applied for my EAD renewal...
I saw my wife's 485 get a SOFT LUD and was happy to see activity. Her PD is EB2 (India) December 2005. Now reading the posts here it looks like it was the EAD application she has that might have initiated it. I hope someone looks at her 485 and she gets greened instead of approving the EAD.
We opened an SR for her and we got response on Friday as application under review. We did a second level IO and that person told us that her application was preadjucated and this was 6th of August. Nothing has happend since then.

I spoke to an IO at the TSC a couple of weeks back when my PD became current. I had called to check the status of my application ...the IO mentioned that my namecheck was pending so my case wouldn't be adjudicated. However, the IO mentioned that because of a "pilot program" my case could be adjudicated if my namecheck was clear. I quizzed the IO further, she stated that only applications with current PD are considered for this "pilot program" where 140 and 485 are adjudicated together.
I gather the impression after talking to the IO that I-140 applicants whose PD is not current is not hurt or delayed by the PPP, instead applicants whose PD is current tend to benefit from this program.
Then why do we still have July EB3 still waiting for i-140 approvals? Gurus pls help

HI Folks,
One of my friend told that my name is very popular in IV forums, and thought of checking how good/bad is my name here.
I'm able to read the forum which was in my name, but I couldn't post a reply as it is closed. So I just started a new thread (of course it took 3 hrs to find and understand this forums, coz I'm not a memebre of any forums)
Some one told that I scrwed their application....I don't think so..coz the stamps are all auto programmed and no body can do anything with that, If it happend to you..then you guys are responsable for this...thinking how?
Yes it is computer programmed. So the s/w might have some bugs...now I have to blame u guys.
I wish you all goodluck with your INS applications.
(The Myth, donot balme anyone until u confirms)
ok...now that you are on this side of the fence....how about enlighten us on how you and ur other mail room staff have been working on our applications...

This is correct information
Individuals who are already in the U.S. and remain in legal status are encouraged to apply at non-border U.S. embassies and consulates in conjunction with foreign travel for business or pleasure. Those who plan to visit Canada, Mexico or, in the cases of students and exchange visitors, adjacent islands, may re-enter the U.S. within thirty days on expired visas as long as they possess a valid I-94 form unless they are excluded from automatic revalidation, as noted below.
Just go to the bottom of the page.
SOURCE WEB SITE

This is true only for students, exchange visitor and adj islanders
Highlighting you quote:
" in the cases of students and exchange visitors, adjacent islands "
Once again, if you are on H1-H4, you WILL need to have a valid VISA stamped on your passport.

Hi all - We have entered into a contract for a home to be closed in May'09. Can we claim our 8000 tax credit ahead on our 2008 return (ahead of our closing date)? We have the address of the property. Its just the possession / closing will be after April 15. Thanks.

Then next would be 65k quota on the number of applicants who can enroll in Phd and country limit not exceeding 7%.
And the saga continues.......:D
And if there is any field that conducts research on importance of Highly Skilled immigration to the country that awards a Phd, I would definitely enroll in that ....

Hi,
I recently completed D160 form which is now the new system of adding and filing application for B-2 visa.. I have read at many places that in case of "In-Laws" wife should sponsor all expenses and stuff like that. Now as I need to fill I 134 and I don't know who should sponsor them as I am on H1 but my wife is currently a homemaker and she is on H4 visa. So should I use her name on I 134 or my name?
Kindly help!!!
Thanks in advance..

I was wondering if anyone has a clue as to in what order are they processing the EADs.
Because I put in random numbers for EADs with notice date Oct 11th (same as mine) and I cannot seem to find a pattern.
Are they processed totally randomly?????
Thanks,
What was your receipt date?

Please leave your comments on this as it could help us in getting some public focus and explain how legal immigration is different from illegal immigration to american people. He is talking about Friedman's proposal for legal immigration but ends up talking about illegal immigration which Friedman didn't even bring in the NY article.
