I had been there @ HYD Consulate for my VISA stamping in May 2010. It all went very cool. They didn't even asked any documents. It just took hardly a minute to complete the interview. The only problem that I have noticed is that because of the loud noises around, you need to concentrate much on what PO is asking. It is very hard to hear. I witnessed this problem more with parents. They were not able to hear it clearly and PO rejected the VISAs.

Situation: I have to sublet my apartment for a few months and will have to transfer the lease on the subletters' names, which means they will have their names on the mailbox for few months. After that, the lease will be on my name again. I am worried that in case if my GC comes in the next few months (being an optimist here), it may not get delivered if my name will not be on the mailbox.
Concern: I am hesitant to fill out the AR 11/address change form since I will have to do it again in a few months when I return; they haven't been found to be reliable (several members have posted related experiences, the most recent being:http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=16242
Question: Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to best deal with this situation?

No good option exists in such a case in my opinion.
From my personal experience (as has been suggested by somebody before) talking to the mail carrier is not the best option (how about when the mail carrier goes on vacation and somebody else replaces him/her).
Putting mail on hold is one option (which cannot be done for more than 4 weeks and is notoriously unreliable; both by the online option and by filling the form out at the post office and dropping it off personally). I have been bitten both ways.
Mail forwarding is obviously not going to work because most USCIS (I say most because some people have actually had USCIS mail forwarded) letters carry the notation "Return Service Requested".
If you stick to the letter of the law then if you are not staying physically at an address you should notify USCIS (even if not for a few months) either by calling them or by filling out the form AR11 online AND sending them the paper application.
Or if nothing works (like in my case when mail hold didn't work) then get a PO Box address (like I did) and then have you lawyer call USCIS and have the address formally changed. At least that way (most likely) you will have mail securely coming to the address. USCIS should send you a letter acknowledging the change of address to the NEW address soon, and most likely you will see A LUD on your pending applications with USCIS.

Recently, my Green Card (GC) has been approved.
I was supposed to get married on August 3�rd week and my GC was approved on August first week. So, as usual, I could not get my future wife as dependent.
When I have posted a thread on this website about my course of action on how to get my future wife to USA, there were lots of suggestions. I chose and followed one of them. (In fact my attorney had advised me the same).
I got my future wife on F1 visa (this is the quickest way one can process visa status compare to any other available visa types). Finally, I have my future wife here in USA on student visa. She is going to school on full time basis.
Now, we are planning to get married and add my wife as my dependent. I wanted to apply her Green Card on family based (FB) quota.
I have few questions in this regard.
1. What would happen to her F1 visa status immediate after our marriage?
2. Can she live here in USA on same F1 status and continue going to school?.
3. What status would she enter into upon processing family based (FB) quota visa starts?
4. Is she eligible to apply for EAD? (Since she is in USA) and married to a legal GC holder.
5. How long will it take to get her GC processed?
I want only genuine answers/suggestions.
I don�t want any wrong advices. I�m neither interested nor willing follow any loopholes and wrong advises.

1. FIFO Policy? - Is USCIS following the �First In First Out� policy in receipting applications? Many people have commented that their application arrived at USCIS specifically on July 2 or 3, but that they still do not have a receipt notice. Can you please explain why that may be? How can someone know if his case was not lost?
* Response: We understand that USCIS� policy still is to work cases on a first in first out basis. However, they use the first in first out policy by application type. For example, all of the I-485s are grouped together.
2. Posted Receipting Times � USCIS posts processing dates for which applications are now being receipted. However, these seem to be incorrect because customers who filed well before these dates still do not have receipts. Moreover, applications received after the posted dates have been sent receipt notices. Can you explain why?
* Response: We understand USCIS is receipting the majority of cases according to the weekly �Receipting Update,� found at www.uscis.gov. If you have not received your receipt by the date indicated on the �Receipting Update,� please send an email to the Ombudsman at cisombudsman.publicaffairs@dhs.gov. Note that if you send an email on this or any issue to the Ombudsman, please be aware that we do not adjudicate cases. You will still need to follow USCIS instructions to address your case. In addition, if you want the Ombudsman to research your particular situation, please submit a case problem by using Form 7001, available at www.dhs.gov/cisombudsman.
3. EADs � What should an applicant do when it has been more than 90 days from filing and he or she has not received an EAD receipt notice or the EAD itself? How will USCIS be able to issue all of these EADs when it is delayed in issuing the receipts?

4. Travel � Can I travel without an I-485 receipt notice and no advance parole? Can I travel with a valid H-1 visa if my I-485 has not yet been receipted?
* Response: USCIS provides two answers on travel and advance parole on their website�s �frequently asked questions� page, www.uscis.gov. However, this page only provides information for emergency travel. USCIS still needs to provide practical information on non-emergency travel. The website also says advance paroles (I-131s) should be sent receipts by the end of this month, but they still need to be processed.
5. Wait Times - How long should someone wait to receive a receipt for an application filed this summer before inquiring about it? Should an application be re-filed?
* Response: We suggest that you review the weekly �Receipting Update� posted on www.uscis.gov, which has the receipting dates for each application type. Someone mentioned that the call center just indicated that the application was not in the system and that he should call back in 30 days. * Response: This is an important issue for the agency. In this time of enormous delays and great anxiety for many customers, it is imperative that USCIS ensures that the call centers are well informed and can pass accurate and timely information to callers.
11. Matching - USCIS has said that the EAD and advance parole applications could be filed with the FEDEX receipt of the I-485. However, some of these are being rejected because the agency says it cannot find the I-485. What should an applicant do under these circumstances? Also, how will USCIS correlate those applications with the previously filed I-485?

Senator Casey, as you may know, immigration system is broken, even for legal immigrants. Our community represented by Immigration Voice, face a waiting period between 10-25 years before we get our green cards.
During this wait, we lose many opportunities and it inhibits our contribution to our companies, and the economy as some of the laws are old and archaic. When you are elected to serve PA again, will you support our provision of eliminating country caps on employment based green card system? You see, when an employer decides to hire us, the one question that is never asked to attain the job is �which country was I born in�, however, this is the very question that defines our community and the mess we are in today. Inaction only perpetuates the unfairness, and we would like to know your take on this matter.

Come on my prority date is june 2005 but it did not help even when they moved the dates to 2006. The thing was the receipt date, even though i am a july 2 nd filer, the RD just moved 30 days past my processing date at the end and then and only then will they do something about your service request.
If the lawyer filed a service request he did what he could because really it s uscis not the lawyer. Believe me I dont like their profession(lawyers), but their hands are bound just as our are when it comes to getting anything out of the calls at the service centers.
Without change nothing will really speed up. Not this year either. And there are plenty of people with 2004 cases still hanging in there too. My first case was 2003 and the only reason why I did not port to my PERM case is because my boss insisted on getting me the higher job description on the 2005 case.
Anyway stop telling him to fire a lawyer who seems to have done an ok job. Thats just my opinon ;-)

In my case they did not took I94 at border, However They removed it in US consulate before stamping.
Immigration officer asked me about my I94 while re-entry into US, I told them it is removed by US consulate. They issued the new one.

I am going to complete my landing for Canadian PR in April 08. I will be driving from Buffalo to Toronto. I will also be applying for h1 stamping in Canada, please let me know if I should surrender my I-94(white copy) if we drive to Canada. If yes to whom?

You are correct in your views.
However IV site will be what its members want it to be. If members talk about EAD/APs and notices, then that is all it will be on the site.
FYI IV has already posted its plan on the main homepage as a top most link after the Dec visa bulletin was announced. If members do not show interest in working towards getting something added in the year end bills and do not want to contribute in the funding drive thread then this site will only be for EADs and AP problems.
This effort is driven and supported by each and every member. Members need to decide what they want. IV leaders are more than wiling to go an extra mile and continue to make sacrifices towards this effort.

I am located in Dallas with I-140 approved. Since my project is ending in Dallas, I have found another job with the same company in Chicago.
But my HR and the Layer is saying that, if I move to Chicago then I have to re-do whole process again starting from labor.
Could some one let me know if they are correct? What will happen If I change the location without refiling labor?
